We CLEDified the Garden Courtyard today. And we CLEDified the @penthouseroanoke last night. It was a busy 🐝 weekend and that @aperolspritzofficial spritz tasted GOOD.

I’m very proud of the fact that as a planner I always have a solid rain back up and plan to execute in the case of unexpected rain in order to stay on the timeline.
But sometimes that plan goes to hell.
The rain started 20 min before the ceremony. Like, the dang skies opened. 🌧💦☔️.
I went to the bride’s dressing room to remind her of my well thought out plan to seamlessly move everyone inside and stay on the timeline.
“No”, she said gently. “I wanna do this outside”. Lots of voices surrounded her with advice but she just stared out the window looking to the sky.
“Let me see what I can do” I said.
Crap. There goes my plan.
Upstairs I went to check on things. Guests were huddled inside waiting for direction. The groom was asking if she was ok… waiting patiently to move forward with whatever she decided.
The rain would not stop. It was 5 min to ceremony time.
I went to see her again and she asked me to send a family friend to pray 🙏🏻 with her and the bridesmaids.
Ok.
So on the way to finding this gentleman I stopped by and made sure all the vendors, especially catering, were ok with starting late. 👍🏼. So we opened the bar, and the guests were happy… and quite supportive and jovial about the situation.
When I escorted this kind hearted prayer sayer to the dressing room it was 25 min after and was getting antsy. I told my bride that it was not looking good (rain still coming and wind 💨 now). She finally agreed to do what I needed to do.
I headed back up to inform guests that it was going to be moved inside when the elevators opened and VOILA. Sunshine ☀️.
So we gathered towels, wiped off the chairs… and proceeded with a rainbow 🌈 kissed wedding ceremony…. Just what she wanted.

While it’s always key to have a plan sometimes you have to veer a little…My brides’ eyes said wait. My intuition said it would all work out… the guests were happy, and we had a top notch team of vendors that went with the flow and jumped in to help make this bride’s dreams some true.
